Held at our Corsham clinic, this series of three different advanced muscle energy courses uses a functional integrated approach providing clinicians with a practical based skill to integrate directly into their clinical or sporting environments. These techniques can be used as an effective treatment tool to address both muscular and joint related issues, improve fluid dynamics and reduce pain.
Upon completion of these courses, you will be able to apply a functional integrated assessment and examination approach and use advanced muscle energy techniques as an effective treatment option to maximum use within your clinical setting.
These courses would benefit anyone working in a clinical and or sporting environment with a special reference to osteopaths, physiotherapists, chiropractors, sports therapists and sports masseurs. Certificate of attendance and 12 hours CPD will be awarded upon completion of each course.

Instrumented assisted Myofasical release techniques
(Crochetage Ekman 'Hooking' technique)
Next course: 14–15 April 2012
This course is unique as it is the first course of its kind to be delivered within the United Kingdom.
Two-day course designed for teaching the art of Instrumented Assisted Myofasical Release Techniques (Crochetage ‘Hooking’ technique). Useful for the treatment of myofasical restrictions, tendonopathies and ligamentous strain by allowing the clinician to save their hands and use tools to assist with breaking down adhesions or fibrosis between fasical layers to help improve overall mobility within the gliding planes of the tissues.
Course content includes surface anatomy, palpation skills, clinical assessment and examination of the myofasical structures. Application of the ‘Hooking’ technique as an art and skill to offer an effective treatment option to regions of myofasical hypertonicity, fibrosis or chronic adhesions.
This course would benefit anyone working in a clinical and or sporting environment with a special reference to osteopaths, physiotherapists, chiropractors, sports therapists and sports masseurs
Fee: £450.00
(Includes a set of Myofascial release hooks and manual)

A functional integrated approach using muscle energy techniques for kinetic chain dysfunction
Next course: 12–13 May 2012
Two-day course comprising of a functional analysis model as a diagnostic tool to highlight restrictions within the myofasical chains and the application of treatment using MET for postural strains and myofasical imbalance with a specific relation to prevention of injury.
Course content includes surface anatomy and palpation skills, muscle firing patterns, adaptive tissue changes, control issues and movement patterns. Understanding theory and the rationale for muscle energy treatment for correction of kinetic chain dysfunctions.
Fee £250.00

A functional integrated approach using advanced muscle energy techniques for the lumbar spine and pelvis
Next course: 22–23 September 2012
Two-day course comprising a biomechanical analysis model as a diagnostic tool to highlight specific segmental somatic dysfunctions and the application of treatment using advanced MET in the lumbar spine and pelvis.
Course content includes surface anatomy, palpation skills and clinical assessment including spinal mechanics incorporating type 1 and 2 dysfunctions and assessment techniques for the iliosacral, sacroiliac and symphysis pubis joints. Appropriate application of advanced muscle energy techniques as an effective treatment method for lumbar spine segmental restriction, sacroiliac and pelvic dysfunctions.
Fee £250.00
