About The Carl Todd Clinic
The Carl Todd Clinic is a small, expert team of healthcare professionals supported by several reception and administration staff, who help to keep things running smoothly at our clinics in Corsham, Swindon and Harley Street, London.
Each of our practitioners is registered with either the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) or the HPC. As the GOsC's registration mark says, you can feel confident that you're safe in our hands. As well as being experienced in the field of osteopathy, each practitioner has a different area of interest and specialism.
For instance, Carl's interest in sports medicine has led him to become the osteopath for the England football team, while Melanie's focus on day-to-day health and fitness has seen her establish our popular Pilates and fitball classes. Learn more about the members of our friendly team below:

Carl Todd
Carl Todd is a registered osteopath and qualified lecturer with a masters degree in sport injury medicine and an honours degree in osteopathy. Carl is a director of The Carl Todd Clinic and practises in Harley Street, Corsham and Swindon. He is a member of the General Osteopathic Council, British Osteopathic Association, Osteopathic Sports Care Association and the British Medical Acupuncture Society, and is an honorary member of the Portuguese Association of Osteopaths.
In 2005 Carl became the first osteopath to be appointed by the Football Association and work with the England football team. He also works as consultant osteopath to Chelsea Football Club, and has consulted for players from many other top football clubs, and for elite athletes from a wide range of sporting disciplines including rugby, swimming, athletics and triathlon.

Melanie Todd
Melanie is a registered osteopath and holds a first class honours degree in osteopathy. A member of the General Osteopathic Council, the British Osteopathic Association and BackCare Association, she is a director of the Carl Todd Clinic and practises in Corsham (near Bath). Melanie is also a fully qualified sports therapist and Pilates instructor, and oversees the Pilates and rehabilitation programmes that run at the clinic.
Her work over the years has taken her to various different countries, including the USA, the Bahamas and, most recently, France where she spent several years treating and rehabilitating the dancers from the Moulin Rouge in Paris.

Amanda Barker
Amanda holds an honours degree in osteopathy and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and the British Osteopathic Association. She is also qualified in sports massage therapy, and is a member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society.
Amanda uses structural and cranial techniques in her treatment approach, as well as providing rehabilitation exercises. She completed undergraduate research investigating foot biomechanics, in which she has a particular interest, as well as the rehabilitation of occupational-related strain.

Dean Barrett
Dean holds an honours degree in osteopathy and is registered with the General Osteopathic Council and the British Osteopathic Association. He is also qualified in sports massage therapy, and personal training and has lectured in sport and exercise science and personal training.
A keen cyclist, Dean likes to compete in road, mountain bike and cyclocross events. He has a particular interest in biomechanical assessments of cyclists and runners in order to help them reach their peak performance.

Gina Brown
Gina trained with the SMAE Institute, which is dedicated to the training of Podiatric medicine. She qualified in 1994 and ran a practice in Milton Keynes until 2003. In 2005, Gina travelled to the Middle East, where she worked with other specialists to provide orthotic devices to the expatriate community.
She works at various clinics in Wiltshire and Bristol, including The Carl Todd Clinic where she provides a Podiatric service to patients.

Alison Draper
Alison is a qualified massage therapist – initially training in holistic therapies – and has been self-employed since 2005. She now offers remedial body massage at the Carl Todd Clinic.

Laura Marsden
Laura is a fully qualified personal trainer and Pilates instructor, who specialises in injury prevention and rehabilitation, providing sessions in Bath and the surrounding area. She works alongside Mel as a Pilates instructor for the Carl Todd Clinic, and she is the in-house personal trainer for the BMI Bath Clinic, where she works alongside the physiotherapy team, providing training on site as well as in Combe Grove Manor Country Club. As well as working with adults, Laura has great experience in working with small children and teens.
After obtaining an Honours degree in Contemporary Dance in Bath, Laura shifted her focus towards the fitness industry where she gained a wide variety of diplomas in studio exercise classes, as well as in Gym Instructing, Personal Training with referred populations and Pilates.

Gerry McKay
Gerry qualified as a personal trainer and sports massage therapist with Premier Training and Development in 2005. Following this, Gerry began to focus on the treatment and management of soft tissue injuries. To complement his sports massage, Gerry has completed the FA Diploma (Part A) Treatment and Management of Sports Injuries. He is also a Level 2 Certified Kinesio Tape practitioner.
Gerry's sporting interest and background is principally football but more recently his interest has shifted towards endurance sports such as, distance running and triathlon. Gerry has gained his experience while working as a massage therapist at Wycombe Wanderers FC, and as a sports injury therapist and fitness coach with Southern League Premier club, Swindon Supermarine FC. Gerry now offers sports massage treatments at The Carl Todd Clinic.

Diane Steele
Diane teaches yoga at The Carl Todd Clinic. She qualified as a Kripalu yoga teacher (a form of Hatha yoga) in March 2005 at the United States' leading yoga centre in Massachusetts, and is a member of the Independent Yoga Network.
She has gone on to take courses in restorative yoga and chair yoga, and has undertaken bone-strengthening classes aimed at people prone to osteopenia and osteoporosis.
Diane has taught in a group setting and an individual basis both in the United States and in Great Britain, and she likes to think that her classes are fun and enjoyable for all who take part. Diane is also a qualified Pilates teacher, and teaches beginner and intermediate mat classes.

Rosemary Tinker
Rosemary graduated from the University of Teesside in 2004 with an MSc in Rehabilitation Science- Physiotherapy. After qualifying she completed the full range of clinical rotations at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon before specialising in musculoskeletal out-patients in 2006.
The following year she began working part-time in a private hospital primarily treating patients with work-related and sporting injuries. She now combines working in private practice whilst continuing in the NHS part-time, enabling her to treat an extensive range of acute and chronic conditions.
In addition to a general musculoskeletal caseload, Rosemary also has interests in acupuncture, hydrotherapy and chronic pain management. She is also currently training as a Pilates instructor.
Outside of work Rosemary enjoys playing and watching a variety of sports, as well as travelling to far-flung corners of the globe.

Carly Whitby
Carly qualified as a personal trainer and sports massage therapist with Premier Training and Development in 2001. She has been working as a freelance personal trainer and sports massage therapist in the Wiltshire area since 2003, and now offers sports massage treatments at The Carl Todd Clinic.
Carly works with clients with a range of needs including rehabilitation, fitness maintenance, ante and post natal, weight loss and sports-specific goals.
Her passion for health and fitness came from a number of years competing in the British marathon canoeing team, and taking part in events such as the London Marathon.
